A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made the first-ever EZ FUN-Raising FLING such a success! By all accounts, it was a great time. We'll post pictures here soon.... So stay tuned.
Nearly 60 people attended the event -- raising a total of $500 (great for a first effort)! Among the highlights:
•
Sharon Altemose Felegie (Eta) won $100 in one of the 50/50 raffles (and she was the very last person to buy a FLING ticket). Thank you,
Marganne Nye Hoffman (Founder) for making the 50/50s the single-most profitable thing we did that night!
•
Darla Dietrich Tate (Founder) beat out a high bidder in the silent auction for an Eagles bar stool, raising $51 additional dollars over the $50 donated by
Rebecca Aten (Alpha) to purchase the item. So $101 total benefits the chapter. (Thanks, Rebecca -- we doubled your money!)
•
Lori Moschella Kleist (Founder) narrowly beat out
Jen Moser's (Alpha Mu) boyfriend Joey in a silent auction bid for a "celebration" basket. (Oh, the agony of defeat was tough for Joey, who confessed he wanted to impress Jen with his bid! But he enjoyed himself nonetheless.)
•
Sharon Wilson Kerstetter's (Epsilon) handmade children's quilt netted $40 (and she wasn't even sure it would make $20 -- but of course it did, because it was beautiful!)
We had a flurry of last-minute donations in addition to Rebecca's too, including
DeeAnne Glenn Orzechowski (Founder),
Paula Dengler Plummer (Zeta),
Wendy Kirkner Rollman (Founder) and
Julie Lennon Seiple (Founder) -- not to mention other alumnae donations to defray costs of the event and assist collegians in attending. Again, thanks to everyone! There are plenty of people who are not mentioned here, but they know who they are -- and how grateful we are.
WHAT'S NEXT? Save the date: Homecoming is October 29-30 this year. We're trying to organize a family-related event (hayride? pumpkin carving?) at the same time. We'll keep you posted!
Happy summer!
