Making a splash at 2006 'Bocce Bash'!

LED BY OUR VERY OWN JESS FRAZIER, Epsilon Zeta sisters contributed to the overwhelming success of Bloomsburg University's "Bocce Bash," a qualifying event for the Pennsylvania Division of Special Olympics.
Jess, who is a Special Education & Elementary Education major, has served Bocce Bash (pronounced "bah-CHEE,") for the past three years, this year becoming "Vice President of Coordination" for the 2006 day-long event which welcomed more than 100 people. This is one of the nation's most successful Special Olympics' bocce competitions, she said. Bocce is a game of skill (sometimes called "Italian lawn bowling") involving eye-hand coordination and points for targeting various wooden balls on a long, narrow court.
At least 15 Phi Sigma Sigma sisters participated, and the chapter has agreed to help sponsor this important event going forward, because it has special meaning to many of our collegian and alumnae sisters in the teaching and special education professions.
