WHEN I LOOK BACK OVER THE NEARLY 20 YEARS THAT HAVE PASSED since my founding sisters and I established this Phi Sigma Sigma chapter at Bloomsburg University, I am amazed by how much has changed - and how much remains the same.

The campus is different. Styles have come and gone! But the women who are sisters now remind me so much of the hopeful, ambitious, warm and wonderful girls I knew when I was their age that I am constantly reminded of what a good thing it was to found Phi Sigma Sigma here. We've made a difference in the lives of hundreds of women since 1988 - and this year promises to be one of our best ever.

First, we have the support of nearly 200 alumnae sisters -- something few Greek organizations these days can say. Last year, we raised thousands of dollars to prepare this chapter for an even better, stronger future. And it showed: We doubled our numbers in fewer than two terms, becoming one of the strongest sororities on campus once again.

Ties that bind: Our advisors volunteer at the local, regional and national levels of Phi Sig! Second photo: Financial Advisor Erika Hess Reinhart (Alpha Epsilon), Lisa again, Ritual and Philanthropy Advisor Michele Muller (Alpha Eta), and Alumnae Advisor Cindy Christos (Omega).

We also have the support of top-notch, truly outstanding advisors. Five, to be precise -- all former sisters of the Bloomsburg chapter, and all excited to participate in the revitalization that collegians and alumnae have worked so hard to achieve in the past few years in advance of our 20th anniversary in 2008.

Together, we are building an even better Phi Sig. One that promotes the personal development of every sister through scholarships, job-shadowing and career-mentoring programs. One that respects every sister and embraces positive, encouraging recruitment practices that raise women of character to a higher level of success in life.

Sure, we break the mold. We're individuals, which is why Phi Sigma Sigma isn't for everyone.... But if you think it's for you, we have a lot to offer! Check out this Web site for more information. Or feel free to contact me personally. I'd love to tell you more about the many ways Phi Sig can prepare you for life after college - and well beyond.
