Top 10 Reasons to RUSH PHI SIG in Fall 2006

Lucky 13
This has been a phenomenal year for Phi Sig! We've doubled our chapter's size, raised thousands of dollars through a successful fund drive, assisted the greater Bloom community and had fun with it all!
  1. Our girls are the most fun and vibrant by far. They're the most welcoming and friendly (everyone says so). And they truly care about each other in a way you don't often see these days!> Click here to meet them!

  2. We're growing. But we're not so large you get lost in the crowd!

  3. We have the strongest alumnae base of any sorority on campus -- and are in contact with more than 200 past sisters, many of whom have pledged to help us with our careers when the time comes.

  4. We're working to secure a house right off campus for the 2007-2008 school year. Best location, easiest commute!

  5. Our sorority awards tens of thousands in scholarships to sisters every year. And we have advisors committed to helping us win some of those monies.

  6. We often have one of Greek Life's highest total GPAs - proving academic excellence and fun can go together.

  8. Our advisors (yes, plural!) are truly committed to helping us succeed. They have direct ties to regional and national Phi Sigma Sigma leaders, and they help us understand the chapter's history in a way that makes it even more personally meaningful.

  9. We perform philanthropy and service projects that really matter -- and it helps us know we make a real difference in this community.

  10. We're preparing to celebrate our 20th year at Bloomsburg University in 2008. You can be a part of it!

  11. We are PHI SIG PROUD! Find out more about us on this site, or by e-mailing our Membership Recruitment Chair.

Major Phi Sig scholarship awarded to Christina Miller!

Christina M

KUDOS TO CHRISTINA MILLER, who has won a $2,000 Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation scholarship grant -- and may well be the first Epsilon Zeta sister to do so in our nearly 20-year history!

Christina, who is a Special Education/Elementary Education major graduating in 2007, was one of five sisters to apply for our sorority's scholarships and grants worth tens of thousands of dollars annually. In fact,
this was the first time the chapter collectively took advantage of applying for the scholarships offered by the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation.

Other chapter high achievers eligible for the honors included Vanna Houck, Justine Walter, Ashley Forsythe, and Christina Pagano. Each was carefully considered, due to her their outstanding efforts to support the sorority and commitment to scholarship! We love you all, girls!

Open Letter from Archon Jamie Pruitt

Jamie photo

WITHIN THE PAST TWO
YEARS,
the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma at Bloomsburg University have taken enormous strides to improve and strengthen our chapter.

As the Archon of the 2006-2007 year, I am dedicated to leading our chapter on to one of the most successful years yet!

Having nearly doubling our numbers since last year and becoming even more involved on campus, we at Phi Sigma Sigma will continue to advance, showing our commitment to excellence and the personal development of our sisters through scholarships, service opportunities and more.

"Leadership is not found in position; it is found in action and influence.”

We're starting off the 2006-2007 year with a strong executive board that is highly enthusiastic and devoted to their positions and the chapter. With fresh new ideas, philanthropic events, fundraising and recruitment plans, we will make this an inspirational year for our fellow Phi Sigs (and perhaps even the campus)
to follow!

Interested in joining us? If you demonstrate the positive qualities that we look for in our sisters, please get in touch. We'd love to meet you!

And to the rest of Greek Life -- Diokete Hupsala! Here's to a great year ahead!
